Natural Lucid Dreaming Supplements

lucid-dreaming-supplementsPeople look for lucid dreaming supplements for a variety of reasons. One of the best reasons is to help them get to sleep. If you can’t sleep, you can’t dream; all you can do is imagine what fun you’ll have when you finally get to sleep and can have your night time adventure.

For Sleep Help:  You may want to find a supplement that has a mild sedative in it. But get one that is MILD – and not a tranquilizer that will knock you out until morning. Remember, you still need to be able to recall what you dreamed about before you can possibly get into the dream. Many people look to Valerian root as the sleep aid they need.

Valerian root was not originally developed as a sleep aid; it was developed for people suffering from anxiety. It has a calming effect and was thought that it could do a good job in this area.  However, case studies were not able to prove the effectiveness of the root for anxiety. But interestingly enough, they did find that the people were getting a better night’s sleep with this root.

As a sleep aid it’s great as a lucid dreaming supplement because it is a mild sedative – like we mentioned we preferred above.  It is not as strong as a prescription sleeping pill, so it’s the perfect balance between getting a good night’s sleep and being able to still have a lucid dream.

The second thing lucid dreamers want is to have more vivid lucid dreams. You don’t really want to have black and white dreams all the time. It would be much better to have colors and sounds so all of the sleeping senses can get involved. This is where hops are fairly efficient. The hops you want come from a flower and have been touted as having the ability to arouse creative dreaming, as well as give you more vivid dreams.

Melatonin has long been used as a prescribed sleep aid and is the ingredient found in most of the over the counter sleep medications.  As lucid dreaming became a more practice, it was also found that this supplement enhanced dreams AND lucidity. So it’s helpful for both of the purposes we mentioned above.  Don’t overdo it though.  If you have lucid dreaming supplements that contain the first two ingredients we mentioned, you will not need much melatonin or you’ll end up having such bizarre dreams that you won’t even want to attempt to get into – or will you?
